Pardon me for being brutal, here, but there is one surefire way not to have an unwanted pregnancy, and that is not to fuck. The right to have sex without consequences seems to me one great big piece of nonsense. But there is a difference between contraception and abortion, and the six questions asked by the author were all about children already conceived. You cannot spread this kind of reasoning for ever and just encourage people to have children willy-nilly in the hope that one out of twenty will be a hero, a genius or a saint; at least, that is not a good reason to have the other nineteen, since each child should be a goal in itself. i do not approve of contraception, but I do not regard it as on the same level as abortion, and it is abortion that I - and the author of the article - are both implacable about.
