Do not let the apparent severity of our clash on this particular matter trouble you too much. Hijja and I have a kind of understanding on these matters: each of us knows how the other thinks. It has been a while since they threatened our friendship. If you are afraid that it might, just check her recent review of my The Three Selves of the Wizard. Each of us is quite serious about our principles, so clashes are inevitable; but I like to think that we have enough mutual esteem as persons to survive them. At least, I think I do.
