Well, I don't know what you expect. In my view, Hayao Miyazaki and Jack Kirby are the two greatest cartoonists who ever lived. Behind them, the list is enormous and ever increasing: Bill Watterson, Sergio Toppi, Hugo Pratt, Benito Iacovitti, Giorgio Cavazzano, Alan Moore, Alan Davis, Charles M.Schulz, Walt Kelly, Robert Crumb, Eisner, Art Spiegelmann, Elzie Chrysler Segar, Alex Raymond, George Herriman, Hal Foster, Goscinny-Uderzo, Alberto Breccia, Enrique Breccia, Carl Barks, Floyd Gottfredson, Mort Walker, Carla Speed McNeill, Denny Derbyshire, Winsor MacKay, and so on and so forth and so following...

For a Muse barely a hundred years old, ours has been exceptionally fertile.
