I've made up my mind not to go on with my Harry/Buffy crossover novel, ...IF ALL THE HEROES LOSE? There are many different reasons for this, but the two biggest are related. First, the more closely I analyzed the Buffy universe, the worse it looked. I would have turned it upside down, assaulting every one of its constituent elements, in a way that I myself don't like to see when people do it to the Harryverse. Second, if I had gone through with all the stuff I had in mind, I would have had all the PC crowd howling for my blood yet again. Not that I mind so much, but I would rather do something fun. There is also the fact that it was going to be frighteningly long - I had a hundred chapters in view. And I was having trouble getting the character of Sir Julian Riddle to gel. There were some elements there of the villainous version of Mary-Sueism. And I have too many other irons in the fire. Pity, because it was the first fanfic I conceived, but I think it is better to leave it as it is.
