According to the Italian newspaper La Repubblica, last June 25 a 15-year-old girl from Dulwich, London, woke up forty metres above the ground, on the counterweight arm of ahuge crane of the kind used to build skyscrapers. The girl has a habit of sleepwalking, and it is presumed that she got out of the house, down the street, into the building area (unnoticed by security guards!) and up the crane, while sound asleep. Someone found her there. It took police and firefighters some two hours to take her down, safe but terrified.
