These are debating points, for anyone who is interested. That does not mean that I do not take them seriously or that I am not willing to defend them.

Point one: "we agreed" on nothing. I checked. I gave up in despair on ever trying to get any viewpoint which is not yours through to you. But I certainly made no agreement such as you claim.

Point two: I was already feeling depressed today. But the start of your e-mail did not improve matters. It sure is one swell, friendly, warm-hearted way to open anything. Thank you very much.

You have said a couple of things about me that were wrong, in public. I am not offended, exactly, just despairing of any attempt to make you understand what is meant by certain terms. The fact that you convinced yourself that an agreement which you obviously made with yourself existed is typical of your way of perceiving only what you want.

http://www.livejournal.com/users/caladan_dd/ runs a LJ which is in effect a series of technically outstanding and very attractive artworks, mostly but not exclusively to do with the HP characters (he seems to have a particular thing for Lupin). If you liked my drawings, this guy is to me as I am to the average kid scrawling on the pavement with a blunt crayon. Friend him, you will be the 500th person to do so (and I am not joking).

This has been a crappy year. From summer to summer I have been plagued with computer bugs, never-ending debt, loneliness, professional failure. The only thing that has increased is my waistline.

Well, almost.

When I asked myself what I had to be grateful for, if at all, over these twelve months, I ended up with these things:
My hairline is not receding and my hair is still almost wholly black. Not bad for a 43-year-old male. I owe this to my mother's side of the family, made up of tough old buggers who generally died at 95-plus with all their hair still on, and that hair not even white but grey. Thanks, Mamma.
I have had a good deal of help and support from my mother and brother, which has allowed me to keep my head above water and even make a little professional advance. Thanks again.
And I have made a lot of new friends. For this I am particularly grateful, and that is why I am writing this entry. Thank you (in alphabetic order):
