Self-recorded audio CDs like the ones I burn in my computer have a small problem: occasionally the CD player has trouble catching the right sector and takes some time to start.
This afternoon I put in one and set it to the third movement of Schubert's Trout Quintet. It immediately went catatonic, and, as I had other stuff to think about, I forgot all about it. That was about 45 minutes ago.
One minute ago I jumped nearly out of my chair as the aggressive opening chords of the third movement suddenly exploded from the loudspeakers.
