A severe disappointment

If you start on a subject that will inevitably, inevitably, be controversial, you should have the endurance to stay with it even when the comments displease you. Nobody asked you to start it, and, for that matter, nobody asked you to state the leading idea in such a way as to offer yourself as a specimen of individualism and willingness to stand alone. I have news for you: if you run from the battlefield, you have not, in fact, stood alone.
