My contribution to Web Comic Day
Well, not mine. I have hovered on the edge of trying to start a webcomic myself, but did not get going for two reasons - first, I was sure I would stop after a few episodes, and second, I did not even have a homepage. I still may sometime, but with all the other commitments I have, this one is not primary.
No, my contribution is to draw attention to the great Travis Charest. Comics artists are divided in two categories - fine artists who love doing comics, and writers who draw. Charest is definitely of the first kind, but his artwork is among the finest ever seen in comics anywhere. On his website, he publishes for his own amusement a strip called "Spacegirl", and even this throwaway item done for fun is full of the most fabulous artwork and a privilege to see. http://groups.msn.com/travischarest/spacegirlcomic.msnw
