You lost me - I always thought the "sexual revolution" was a brand created in the 60's when the baby-boomers invented sex, the birth control pill, and independent thought. Goodness knows before then there were no unwed mothers, abused abandoned children, promiscuity, or infanticide, and STD's only happened to dirty people in leper colonies who ran out of Trojans.
Sex has always been separated from reproduction. An umbilical cord only keeps one of the parents from walking away over nine months - after that all bets are off. Pretending the Supreme Court screwed everything up in 1973 and changed things doesn't make it true - "theraputic abortion" existed everywhere someone had a need and could pay for it.
It's very sad when sex is been hacked into little insignificant pieces and tallied. "Love" "sensation" "trust" "responsability" "respect" "freedom" "committment" "communication" "excitement" and "respect" all have more to do with the whole than crass little words like "marital aids" convey. People have great capacity for cruelty - liberals and conservatives both. And that in the end is why I want the government out of the room for the most important decisions. If that's a knee-jerk liberal position, so be it and stand clear.
