You evidently are not aware that, while European countries spend between eight and nine per cent of GDP on healthcare, of which about 80% is state expenditure, American health expenditure costs between thirteen and fourteen per cent - of which 45% is still state expenditure. Work it out. A properly managed switchover would reduce private expenditure and lead to a barely noticeable tax increase.
