I love the idea of a world where adopted children know their birth parents, but in the US at least, the laws for parents getting their children back are so lenient that families don't know if the child they are committing themselves to raising will be yanked away from them. This, I think is going too far.
I know quite a few families that have adopted or people who were adopted. Maybe I'm lucky, but they've all been very happy stories.
