You wouldn't now - peanut butter is everywhere, even in Italy, and so are cereals. I remember the first time I ever tried those - I was 14 or so, so it must have been about 1976.

Nutella's the same way over here--I got hooked on it back in Europe and brought a couple jars home with me but now I can get it at the local Meijer's.
