I'm not really saying that girls who go out in bikins invite rape, but if you put an awful lot of you on display, you take your chances. Males are wired to pay attention to female skin, and they never ignore it without an act of will. "A leotard" is already different, but then being followed around is not quite the same as being pawed or vulgarly addressed, either. Anyway, what I am saying is nothing to do with individuals. It is that the cultural bases of this unwholesome mixture of salesman's softcore and mythology were laid long before any of us were born, but that they are culture-specific rather than universal, and that honest investigation can trace them down.
