An awful lot of sci-fi/fantasy authors seem consider being a Dirty Old Man (tm) who can get away with pawing younger women to be one of the perks they're entitled to. (In fairness, this is just the same Hollywood/fame phenomenon in a smaller microcosm.) Harlan Ellison is legendary for that sort of behavior -- he even groped fellow author Connie Willis at one con. (Of course, Ellison is legendary for being an all-around asshole.) Ironic since Ellison also wrote a well-known screed about how much abuse authors endure from batshit crazy fans.
