Very very true. I tried to hang on and fit into a fanfic group once upon a time, and most of the folks there (whom I met online) were great. But I had a problem with a lot of the fic...it just wasn't anything I could read. No action, for the most part, just romance, internalist ramblings, or slash. It really didn't have a heck of a lot to do with superhero stories, and I couldn't much comment on it for fear of hurting somebody. I hung on with the group for cameraderie, and they were often nice about reading my stories. But when you don't read or comment on theirs...what can you do?
