But one of the privileges that go with Italian birth (especially if you are fortunate enough to be a citizen of the great cities Milan and Rome both) is that you can go straight to the singing stage without need to get stoned first, thus getting the best of the deal without need of after-effects.

I just want you to know that watching your reactions to the latest football events has warmed my (football clueless) heart. Living as I do in the heart of American-football territory, surrounded by talentless sweating 130kg monsters and their poor-sport fans, it's wonderful to be reminded that there are sports less time-consuming and musclebound, with aficionados who care more for the sport than for the beer.

Don't build too much on it. The neighbour's grass is not always greener. Soccer in Italy is corrupt and dominated by clubs of hooligans; decent people hardly ever go to the stadium any more. This was just me consoling myself a bit.

You realize you're crushing my dreams, right? ;)

(I will probably never enjoy sports, run by hooligans or drenched in beer-sweat or even played in corsets by distinguished gentlemen. But I was openly derided this morning in class for failing to recognize the supremacy of my university's baseball team, and for not knowing we had a baseball team, so I'm enjoying the rare delight of watching someone enjoy a sport without being a jerk about it.)
