What I'd like to see is an new version of Prisoner of Zenda...not that I think we need a new one, mind you, the Ronald Colman version is terrific, but I find that many of my younger friends have never heard of it, which I find amazing. This movie was made over and over again in the early days. I think the latest version had Peter Sellers. It's strange that, in this day of a million reboots, no one is making one.

It would make a good cartoon, too.

Really! I only just found out there was a novel. The movies been made at least 5 times, plus at least one cartoon version...it's just amazing that it suddenly fell off the radar.

I am surprised. I suggest you read it: Anthony Hope's novel would delight you, both because of its brilliant pace and invention and because of its chivalrous moral world. All I know is that if someone presumed to make a movie about The Silver Angel and The Liberators, or even Ricky Attanasio, without my intervention, I would not be happy.

P.S.: About Ricky: the house move from Hell resulted, among other things, in the loss of every single note I had ever made about him, including all the family lines. Yesterday I found the strength, for the first time, to start work on an outline again. Just in case you were wondering.

That really sucks about losing your notes. I'd punch a few holes in walls. (Of course, I also keep multiple online backups. I upload my current draft of AQATSA every thousand words or so, and I have a private wiki with all my notes.)

But he is the effective creator. Ask anyone who is responsible for Buffy, and you know what they will answer. It's like DC's treatment of Siegel and Schuster.

The notes about Ricky were scattered and duplicated on the computer, on some floppies and on pieces of paper (especially the pedigrees). You have to remember that I was simply locked out from everything.
