A Glasgow kiss
Apr. 19th, 2011 04:51 pmFor those who are not British, a Glasgow kiss is a head-butt. I just had an experience that compares, metaphorically.
There is a person online with whom I am not often in agreement. In fact, I once or twice asked him why he keeps ascribing me the worst possible reasons any time I make a comment.
This morning I found myself in the unusual position of wholly agreeing with something he had written. What is more, it was an issue on which I had been thinking and writing for a quarter-century, including a long passage in one of the essays of which I am proudest. (And of which I keep hearing the nicest things from people who stumble on it one way or another.)
So I cut out the relevant passage and posted it in his comments section.
He deleted it without reading it.
