Next Monday I will be interviewed by a TV production company for a program about theories about King Arthur in history and legend. (The company is Park Records, which records some outstanding folk acts - Steeleye Span, Kathryn Tickell, Kirsty McGee, Lindisfarne, Pentangle, and so on.) This is one of a number of minor, but not displeasing, signs of attention to my HISTORY OF BRITAIN 407-597, which is the biggest job I ever completed. I have received requests for information, for my views on certain legends, for hints about Celtic studies. Considering that there are three years of blood, sweat and tears in the 500,000 words of this book (I wrote most of it while unhappily living in a shared house with a druggie and a criminal), this is highly satisfactory. I suppose part of the reason for its success is that it is housed on a really superlative site - Robert Vermaat's Vortigern Studies, whose scholarly and learned tone is evident even on first contact. That is why I gave it to him in the first place. The URL is http://www.geocities.com/vortigernstudies/fabio/contents.htm; and the URL of the whole site is http://www.vortigernstudies.org.uk/vortigernhomepage.htm
