It's interesting to me how so many people are so devoted to the idea of relativism/diversity/what you will ... except in the case of their own dearly-held beliefs, which are obviously true and good and right and should be enforced on everybody.
Well, and diversity is obviously Good no matter what. One time I was reading a discussion about a tv show I like, which is set mainly in middle America (my neck of the woods!). Commenters were complaining about the lack of diversity on the show, especially the lack of black characters. Then one commenter remarked that, actually, the show is pretty accurate in that regard: you can drive for days on end in that part of the country without seeing a single black person. Replied someone else: "OMG! How can they stand it?"
Because black people are magical creatures, and just seeing one during the course of your day automatically makes it better, right?
