Reflections of a stormy petrel

It is something that happens. I am a member of the Catholic Church; work it out. But in this study, I treated it purely as a phenomenon in a particular culture and in a particular poet (my admiration for whom is utterly boundless - you don't know what verbal music means till you've read Virgil in Latin). Incidentally, the format of the LJ did not allow me to copy in the rather massive apparatus of footnotes that comes with this article.
