At least you aren't burned, and it was only the kitchen. (expensive repairs, but contained). I don't suppose you had renter's insurance? Or that the landlord can help fix things with the policy on the whole property?
Chip pan fire. Damage, ceiling and walls need to be re-decorated, electrical system shot (I am on the computer because it is on a different circuit), hob destroyed, three doubleglazed windowpanes need replacing, many odds and ends gone. Right now, if someone could show me the way to make some money rather fast, I would be grateful.
EEK. *hugs you* thank goodness you're okay. wish I could be of some help money wise but... *turns out pockets and butterflies flutter out*
you could try freelancing with a few articles and send them to mags to sell? Or else look for someone who might want illustrations done... dunno if they'll pay well or anything, but hopefully it should help bring in some extra money. what's the rate per article in London? here it's (union-wise) $770 for about a 1000 words so I figure a few might help.
Dear fpb, I am glad that you are not hurt. I'm sorry for the upheaval you will be experiencing for a while. Please keep in touch with us, and let us know how you're doing.
Like I said when I had a similar sympathetic reaction after the London bombs - it's lovely to have griends. I could do without having to get people's sympathy quite so often, though.
I'm glad to hear you're safe. That must really suck a whole lot.
Here's some advice, apparently there's this website that pays you $30,000 to write a straight out romance novel. I wish I knew the URL, but yeah, you should totally do something like that.

The most important thing of all is that you are ok.
I hope you’ll find the necessary finances you need, right away.
