Swunked from [profile] agatha_s: freak me out by quoting old posts at me

The object of the game is to stump the person writing the journal. I've been writing in my live journal for over a year, and can't possibly remember all the topics I've talked about in that time.

Your job, if you choose to accept it, is to go into the archives of my journal and pull out a random quote from some time, some year, and then my job will be to see if I can remember what I was talking about. You tell me if I'm remotely right or wrong.

Nope, I can't peek, and you'll have to trust I won't. :)

Please don't pick a quote that's so random that it could apply to anything, like "feh" or "Damn it!" or something equally generally. Pick something that might actually be about something, but not so blatantly about something that I'll have to guess what I'm talking about.

"...but by all means, if you have to steal, steal from the best."

And I wholeheartedly agree with you about what "the best" means.

This is probably too easy for you, being a genious and all.

Nicely stumped, all right.

What complicates this for me is that I have said this more than once in a number of contexts. It is certainly from a review, and I think it refers to Peanuts as "the best", but I might be wrong.

In this case you were talking about how the music that Oasis puts out is usually garbage, but "their latest single, the importance of being idle, is really quite good." You essentially said that it was a Beatles ripoff, which is where the quote comes in: "by all means, if you have to steal, steal from the best." Amen.

Is it rude to ask who you are and how come you are reading my LJ?

"Do this or I will come around and bop you on the nose"

The above is what I choose from your lj. Also, I will steal this meme from you.
PS: how is your apartment coming along in it's repairs?

Also, I'm going to title this meme with the above FPB quotation, 'cause it's funny.

I used that heading twice - the first time to get people to encourage a fellow-writer ([profile] webbapettigrew) who was suffering from undeserved rejection, and another to get them to congratulate [personal profile] kikei on her spectacular achievement in getting herself accepted by a good Australian university in spite of any amount of disabilities and problems.

Wow, you nailed it. 'Cept I'd only seen the first one. Also, I totally did steal that line on my lj, but I credited you. Let me know if you don't like that, and I will change it.

No problem.
