The world will probably end tomorrow.

So I send a post to an FA thread which is adjudged to be near off-topic. And instead of docking me a point, a mod just sends me a private reminder. Either the world is coming to an end, or I have suddenly found myself in a parallel universe.

When will you learn, Fabio, that on FAP, when you post on a thread, you have to repeat exactly the same thing as everyone that has posted before you? Gosh, I can't believe that after all this time, you haven't figured that out!

[identity profile] fpb.livejournal.com 2005-09-17 09:51 am (UTC)(link)
Well, no, it honestly was OT.

Take it as a beautiful, beautiful sign and learn from it. Seriously. And don't post OT again. If you're good, people won't smack you up so often.

I say this as someone who cares.

Oh, boo, hiss, that was me. Fukkit.

I don't doubt that for a second. I was just being sarcastic about the lack of originality of everything that is said at FAP. It used to drive me nuts when I read the first post of a thread, had something to say about it, and then saw that 20 people had already said it.

[identity profile] bufo-viridis.livejournal.com 2005-09-17 11:40 am (UTC)(link)
It is a prescribed practice, isn't it?

[identity profile] fpb.livejournal.com 2005-09-17 11:48 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know what prescribed practice is; at any rate the comment concerned involved a slightly jocular but genuine compliment to Hijja, so that may have made a difference.

[identity profile] dreamer-marie.livejournal.com 2005-09-17 12:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Come on, Fabio, stop feeling all miserable about it. See it like this: you're a knight in shining armour who is willing to brave storms, Lord Voldemort in person, even - and I shudder at the thought - private reminders from FAP moderators to pay a compliment to Hijja. That's something noble and good, and whether Hijja is male or female, he/she is bound to be flattered by the attention.
Damn FAP, it's just a stupid website with harassed moderators who still haven't recovered from the last shipping war (and God knows we just went through the shipping equivalent of WW1). It's probably someone who got jealous about your post who reported it to the mods and they didn't take the time to check it.

[identity profile] fpb.livejournal.com 2005-09-17 12:18 pm (UTC)(link)
No, no, no - I was grateful for the attention, and entirely astonished by it! That was the whole point of the post! I never expected FA to treat me fairly, and for once they DID! That is why I said that either the world is about to end, or I am living in a parallel universe. It was ironic! It was something like, what, a FA mod behaving fairly? Which implies that, yes, this time they did!

[identity profile] dreamer-marie.livejournal.com 2005-09-17 12:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Then it's OK. Three times hooray for the FAP mods!!

[identity profile] fpb.livejournal.com 2005-09-17 12:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, let's make it just once, OK?

Thus spake ToU :)
