I am one of Springsteen's biggest fans. But...

Santa Claus is coming to town??? Frank Sinatra was bad enough....

Better than that Destiny's Child christmas CD they put out a few years ago. It was so bad Baby Jesus wanted to be unborn.

I read your second sentence and wonder whether a poet lurks somewhere in you.

Deep inside. I haven't been punching myself in the gut for years for nothing, you know.

What's so surprising? The guy is not exactly a teenie. He needs to stash some cash for his retirement fund and nothing's better than cheesy Xmas Carols, sure to sell...

The argument would hold if it was not applied to someone who has had more multiple platinums than I have had comics reviews published, and who to the best of anyone's knowledge does not have any funny habits and does not blow half his income up his nose, or (as with Elton John) on his wardrobe. No. I suspect that the Boss is just an old softie at heart. I bet that, when nobody is looking, he cooes at passing babies.

It's easy to be misled by shine and lustre :)
You have no idea how much such a jeans vest, looking properly old and being perfectly frayed and stretched may cost..

Doesn't EJ spend like $50k per month on flowers?

That's totally awesome.

Hey, it's a classic now.

[identity profile] fpb.livejournal.com 2005-10-05 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, but a classic what?

Just be glad it's not Neil Diamond's rendition. That one still gives me nightmares...

[identity profile] fpb.livejournal.com 2005-10-05 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Did you have to inform me it existed? Now I will have nightmares too. 8-)

[identity profile] fpb.livejournal.com 2005-10-05 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Uh, how do I put this... there are all kinds of things that are classic in their own order... and frankly, whatever order this belongs to, it is not the same as "O little town of Bethlehem" or "Silent Night".

Fabio, I think it would be a good idea to delete the comment just before me: I think that clicking on the link brings you a virus. My LJ had been similarly "attacked".

[identity profile] fpb.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 04:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I thought so. Will do. I apologize, should have done it before, but it is a pretty distractingly busy time.

[identity profile] dreamer-marie.livejournal.com 2005-10-07 11:16 am (UTC)(link)
No problem. You don't have to apologize because other people have no conscience. How are you doing, by the way? Have you found a new flat yet?

[identity profile] fpb.livejournal.com 2005-10-07 11:19 am (UTC)(link)
Moving in this week-end. Nearly dead from effort. If this does not make me lose weight, nothing will.

[identity profile] dreamer-marie.livejournal.com 2005-10-07 02:02 pm (UTC)(link)
There is no proper equivalent in English, so I'm going to say it in French: bon courage. Is it a nice flat?

[identity profile] fpb.livejournal.com 2005-10-08 06:18 am (UTC)(link)
More spacious than the current one, but old (nineteen-thirties, I think) and not renewed, with cheap and very old-fashioned fittings, on top of a three-floor building on a main road, with a nasty entrance via an outside stair from a dirty back alley, but nearer the centre, with an excellent rail connection, and ten pounds a week cheaper. Advantages, disadvantages.

Reply from suspended user?

Anyway, however his rendition turns out, it won't be as bad as the Hanson Christmas CD. That one made me wish I was deaf.

It was a virus. Beware of replies saying "I got to know you through this" (and giving a thread address) from unknown persons. Luckily my Norton, though out of date, was able to deal with it.
