An academic publisher - and academic publishers are in my experience none too well financed - is willing to take a monstrous hit in their pocket rather than be found to be in any way sympathetic to Christianity: http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/damian_thompson/blog/2009/02/11/encyclopedia_of_christian_civilization_pulped_for_being_too_christian

This is the world we live in. This is what they call toleration. I say it's about time to start hitting back by any means the law gives us. There are more of us than there are of them, and I want to know why we let them silence and persecute us.

Two questions:

1) Why do we have to learn this from an Indian newspaper - is this not the kind of news that should have come out in the Daily Mail or the Daily Express? Are they too craven, or just not doing their jobs?

2) Why has not everyone connected with this obscenity not been sacked without compensation, pension or golden parachute of any kind, been blacklisted for any further public employment, and subjected to all too well deserved public ignominy?

Words cannot express my regret for your national tragedy, but also my admiration for the country's reaction to it. The latest news is that Ozzies have raised $30,000,000 already to help their fellow-citizens. As someone said on the news, "We're Australians and we help each other." Indeed.
