He is a fifty-year-old Peter Pan gone to seed. I really find him irritating as Hell - all that forced laughter, and no dignity at all. Complete pseud. And he works in morning TV shows, which means that he ruins the start of the day for me if I don't have the sense to turn to another channel fast enough. Ah well, I am currently cleansing my soul with Mozart's fortieth and forty-first symphonies.
I should, but I am in the bad habit of turning on the TV automatically. Mind you, Chegwin (and the politics pushed daily on the BBC side) are more or less forcing me to turn it off, so there is hope yet.
I'm afraid that when you come back, you will find him all over the ITV Breakfast show, giving cash prizes. Alas. When I don't have the sense or opportunity to switch, I feel exactly like Dumbledore when he bit into the earwax-flavoured bean.
