I have decided to change a couple of things. First, because I am sick and tired of answering people who will not show their faces while they criticize me - while my name is known, and my address accessible, to everyone - I have decided that from now on only registered LJ users will be able to post comments. Second, I have unbanned nearly everyone on the banned list. It does not make sense to ban permanently people for things that happened two or three years ago and which, in some cases, I barely remember. Queen Pretty Arse and the other heroes of the Blaise Zabini mess are excluded; that is still too recent. And do bear in mind that I am going to be as quick to ban again if people go beyond what I regard as the limits of decency; that, this time, I will not allow anonymous posting; and that I am the sole judge and jury of what counts as decency on my blog.

I knew something huge must have happened to bring down LJ this morning. I was blaming it on the power maintenance.

It is your LJ, your rules. I think of one's lj as a home or parlor where people can drop in and converse, but the host gets to set up the guidelines for their own comfort, which usually works out to be to the comfort of everyone really.

My dear, if there is one person in the blogosphere whom I never thought was in need of any such admonition whatever, that was you. From you I never expect anything except good intentions, good manners and good cheer, and I am rarely ever disappointed.
