A Dr Who flint?

OK, everyone agrees, "Blink" was one of the best episodes ever. But can someone tell me what was the matter with the flying duck in the opening scene, and who flung it?

The duck? Or the stone that the weeping angel threw at poor Sally?

At least that's the impression I got.

It was a decorative "flying duck" of the kind that used to be stuck on the walls of English houses in, I guess, the fifties or something. They were made of some kind of stone material, and clearly, when thrown, could hurt. This one looked rather large. But given what we eventually find out about the "angels", why should they bother throwing bric-a-brac at her?

Steven Moffat wanted to have the "Duck, now." as his mysertious intro bit and not have the reveal for the angels right at the start, quite possibly. It's just part of the clever hook at the start of the show.

Who's to say, really, besides Steven Moffat? ;)

And yes.

One of the best episodes ever.
