It is always such a pleasure to find notes, responses or lj entries from you. You have a quirky, somewhat growly style and approach that does nothing to disguise your intelligence, your sensitivity and last but not least your articulacy. You are loyal, courageous and loving - and not very good at disguising it (though you try).
Terrified. I have already said a thing or two about your character, integrity and kindness. I do not see any reason to change my mind, although recently your domestic virtues have been more to the fore.
First, you are one of the funniest people I know. Second, I think you are a person who has been dealt a number of bad cards and has made a superb play with them. You are brave, talented and loving, and all the crap you have to live with has not made you either vindictive or selfish. I am proud of being your friend.
It is wonderful to meet cultured, charming, sympathetic people from parts of the world I had never so much as thought of before, and, in so far as I had ever thought of, had not much considered. You are not only a person with an outsize helping of personality, charm, uprightness and learning, but also one who sheds a wholly unexpected light on your country. I hope I do not sound patronizing when I say that you are a credit to Paraguay.
Well, I think I had a thing or two to say to you before, pretty little bird. Have you become prettier since then? Dunno. More charming? Hardly possible. More talented and promising? At best, you are further along realizing your promise. You had some tough times of late, but I am certain that you will make it over them and any other obstacle, and manage to have a splendid career while keeping your honour and self-respect. And along the way you have found or will find someone who will love you as you deserve.
Verdammtnochmal, du bist schoen! And talented, sweet in word and deed, fun, and wonderful to know. And you live in one of the loveliest parts of Europe. There really ain't no justice.
You are what I always said you were, and what I hope you will remain: the best kind of supposedly ordinary person - affectionate, intelligent, unselfish, fun, courageous when you have to, and wholly charming. Like everyone in this column, but in your own inimitable way, you are someone I am proud to know and who makes my life richer and happier.
