The ghost section of Hollywood is getting rather crowded...

Jules Dassin, Richard Widmark and Charlton Heston in HOW MANY days?
Rest in peace, all of them - even though I cannot forgive Heston his "cold dead hands" nonsense.

In fact he did keep his guns, though I doubt he was holding them at the moment of death.

We will not agree on this matter, I'm afraid.

What, you think he DID hold them when he died? ;)

But I think you and I will. Yesterday's paper featured an obit complete with two pictures of CH: one in a heroic pose from Ben Hur, the other at a lectern, right fist raised high over his head and brandishing a rifle, mouth wide open in what was probably full spate in exactly that "cold dead hands" tirade. All I could think was "I really don't want to remember him this way."

Exactly.

If you can forgive him "Soylent Green", you can forgive him the NRA friendships.

But he didn't write the script. Interesting, by the way, how many of his later moview were distopian - Planet of the Apes, Soylent Green, etc.

He will always be Moses and Marc Antony to me...
