1. Leave me a comment about anything you wish…or just tell me you want to play. I always like the direct approach. LOL
2. I will respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better.
3. You WILL update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be asked, you will ask them five questions.
My questions-and-answers from
shadowycat:
1. When you read for pleasure, what do you read?
In the following order (of priority, frequency and ejoyment): history, comics, classic literature, detective stories, current affairs, biographies.
2. How did you get started writing fanfiction?
I spent the seventies and eighties learning to write and draw, and the nineties trying to become a professional cartoonist. I do not see a real break between my old superhero stories and my current HP fanfic writing, except that I no longer draw.
3. If you could meet and interact with any literary character, who would you choose?
That's a toughie. One of the really lovely and beloved female ones, I guess - except that all of those already have their lovers.
4. What do you consider to be the defining aspect of your personal philosophy?
"Take what you want and pay for it, says God." It has a thousand corollaries, such as "Seek the battle, do not complain of the wounds". I can understand pain or grief, but I have no time for whiners. Another one is "Never let a good or kind deed go unnoticed." People need praise as much as they do blame. And praising is a pleasure in itself.
5. What is your favorite food?
If I have to choose, pizza, then ice cream, then good fresh fruit. Probably the worst single thing about Britain is that they have no idea what fresh fruit is really like. Everything you find, not only in supermarkets, but even in open-air markets, is painted wood.
