Today's documentary on BBC 2, called Did Darwin kill God?, is not just right, it is exceptionally well-thought out and shows a complete mastery of the issues. I cannot praise it too much and I hope to find an online copy.

Date: 2009-04-01 06:51 am (UTC)I see no contradiction between a belief in God and a belief that evolution operates. Why should an omnipotent, omnisiceint God limit himself to mechanisms like simple one-off creation to form his universe?
What evolution did do was to make atheism rational. Until there was a possible explanation, other than as a reflection of the mind of God, for the wonder that is the human mind, then I can see how atheism was a more difficult position to hold.
