A song from my childhood

Gigliola Cinquetti - Alle porte del Sole
Even those who have no idea what she is singing ought to appreciate the tune. It was a monster hit in the 1973-4 winter.

That's catchy. I think this is the fifth time in a row I have played it.

(Sixth now.)

Wow

I was playing this, with the volume turned up, and my wife came into my study and demanded to know where I got this song.

Her dad was in show business in Italy, and after he retired as a dancer, he got into lighting and sound. He mostly worked with Raffaella Carra (for whom my wife is a dead ringer and sometimes used to distract fans at the stage door while the real La Carra got into a car out front) but he apparently also did some tour work with this Gigliola Cinquetti. She was very kind to my wife, who really enjoyed listening to this. Thanks!

My pleasure. It's all on Youtube, just go look for it.

That last comment about La Carra was from me. Sorry for not logging in...I forgot!

That's all right. The screening for anonymice is intended to protect against trolls, not gentlemen who have the good fortune of having a wife who looks like Raffaella Carra'.
