Swunked from [personal profile] pandoraculpa:

1. Post two truths and one lie.
2. Get your f-list to guess which is which.
3. Tag 15 people.

Well, tagging fifteen people is too much like work, but here is the truth and lies anywyay:

1) I once found a coconut in a snowstorm.
2) I have slept in the open in the quad of Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge.
3) I have studied in the most ancient school in the world.

I would guess the coconut in the snowstorm as the lie.

No, sorry. I was staggering home in London in one of the worst snowstorms I have ever seen, when I saw, right in front of me, a whole coconut just sitting there on the ground. It must have fallen off someone's shopping.

See, I read the first one and decided it was so wild it had to be true. But I couldn't decide between two or three as false, then I cheated and read the comments.

The University of Bologna?

It's conceivable.

I guess the quad one, then.

Right for the wrong reasons. King's School, Canterbury (UK), has Bologna whupped by no less than 502 years, being the descendant of the first monastic school ever established on English soil. And I did spend a night in an open quad - it wasn't Sidney Sussex', but that of Canterbury CAthedral, one evening when I had got back too late from Rome. I spent a couple of years in King's School, but my father then lost his job and could not afford the fees. Plus, I had never properly fitted in: a British "public school", which is private and very expensive, is a world of its own, with a set of unspoken rules I never quite understood.

For some reason at that hour of the night I parsed it as oldest university instead of oldest school, which just showed that I needed to go to bed (which I did shortly afterwards.)

Okay, so #2 seems utterly plausible- a very collegiate thing to do. And #3 makes sense to me, given your nationality and interests. And while #1 could occur under certain circumstances, I'm going to make the (completely baseless) assumption that this is the incorrect statement.

So #1 for the lie. Yeah.

Aw, crap. Seems I should have read the comments first! ;p
