So I'll start it with a very quick Alexandra Quick sketch. It is from Alexandra Quick and the Lands Below, chapter 23. For some reason, I had been itching to sketch this scene, and it was fun, even though anyone will be able to tell that really am no good at hair and hands.

You mean chapter 22, right (Alexandra and Beatrice)? I love it. Can I put it in the AQATLB ebook?

Of course - to both.

Still, next time I would like to do better - not hands which look like misshapen omelettes and no background. But here and now, I was just eager to get started again.

Alexandra, actually. She is the protagonist of what are by far the best Harry Potter chaptered fics - in fact, the only way to properly describe them is novels: they are works of literature. The author is [personal profile] inverarity, whom you can track from here, and I cannot praise them too much.

If it's that good, the author should file off the Harry Potter serial numbers and try to sell it. People who like Harry are looking for stuff like that to read. All she would have to do is make a few differences in the background and change names.

It's a he, and I think the HP world serves him as a trellis to build his stories on. Plus, he has some sort of day job (which makes me wonder where he finds the time to write NOVELS!). This is what I had to say about it a few months ago: http://fpb.livejournal.com/493456.html

He. Sorry.

John has a day job, too. It's possible. You need to be devoted.

>a trellis to build on-- what a nice way of putting it.

Excellent! While rough, it's also quite expressive. I'm very pleased to see you making artwork and posting it again, please continue!

(If you aren't very good with hair and hands, the most important thing is of course to keep doing them. And I always recommend drawing difficult things from observation, even if it's just from photo references. Eventually you internalize the references and can do without.)

You are right, of course. And thanks for the compliment.
