They've been able to create antihydrogen atoms before, but they never lasted long. This batch apparently lasted signicantly longer than a tenth of a second, tho they're not releasing the exact time yet. Now they may be able to study their properties more closely.
The big news is not that they've been able to create it, but that they've been able to contain and preserve antihydrogen for something approaching the length of time required to begin a serious investigation of its physical properties.
(It should have properties similar to regular hydrogen, but any discovered differences should be extremely informative.)
