John Galliano sacked

GOOD
Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. Drunk or not, his remarks were beyond the pale, and if I ever find myself in the same room as him, I'll do my best to rearrange his face.

Good for the company for acting swiftly and justly in ousting him. Mr. Galliano, aside from revealing some truly distasteful prejudices, also is a disgrace because he was not only representing himself, but a fashion house. This is a position of great honor, especially since it was CHRISTIAN DIOR. The price you pay for being in this position (or any position of power, for that matter), is that you are no longer simply yourself. You should not be getting drunk and running your mouth in Parisian cafes no matter how brilliant you are. Moreover, there are thousands of people working for this label (from seamstresses to executives) who risk being negatively associated with Mr. Galliano’s reprehensible behavior. It is not fair to them.

Hi! I've been skulking about LJ, reading your posts. :) I "left" but I still read all of my friends' entries. I stopped writing in my own journal when I had all of these family issues, etc., and it was getting really stressful, but things are better now.

I hope that all is well with you. You are as sharp as ever.
