An attempt to set Ubuntu on the smallest of my two portables - both Windows XP and both damaged almost to the point of being useless by mysterious complaints - has ended in utter frustration when the system did not seem able to understand that my keyboard was United Kingdom, not Ukraine, and repeating the same actions over and over again. If this is the friendly open-source system, I'm afraid I'm going to be stuck with bug-ridden bloody old Windows for a while yet.

Curious -- which version of Ubuntu is this? Perhaps I could catch you on Skype or AIM sometime? [I'm mental_moonbase on Skype, and MenTaLsaN on AIM.]

By the way, I'm going to be in London from June 6th through the 12th (inclusive), perhaps we could have a look then as well.
