The superhero genre is so corrupt that there is little or no hope to go back to sanity unless Marvel, DC and the rest go bankrupt. It's just one big event after another, year after year, till all your characters have been rehashed and reworked and even just plain got wrong so many times that you no longer have anything there worth caring for. I wish I had the time to do some more Silver Angel comics, just to ahve something I might like.

In light of the DC reboot on the horizon, I can sadly only shake my head and say, "Amen." :/

Part of the problem is the impossibility of simultaneously maintaining continuity and modishness in a serial story whose publication stretches over numerous decades. The temptation is always to sacrifice continuity to modishness, with the result that characters must either be "rebooted" or have lives that go through bizarre shifts of objective and personality.

Absolutely true. DC comics used to have a useful mechanism of multiple Earths where, when a set of characters had lasted too long, action would simply start pver again another planet. Alas, they got rid of it.

Re: comics if you go to drpepper.com, you can supposedly download a free digital comic book. I haven't looked at it so I don't know what it is, just saw the link on a bottle of Diet Dr.Pepper.
