Why I hate party politics

Every time I have got disgusted with one extreme, the other goes out of their way to show me how repulsive they can be in their turn. Case in point: I am not in the least impressed by Tea Party Republicans playing craps and worse with the economic future of the world - as concerned by the the credit of the Dollar and of US Bonds - and I said so in my blog. Now, however, the BBC have shown themselves so atrociously partisan as to cause me to react. Not even an attempt to understand Republican, let alone Tea Party, positions; everything done to make their public regard "the enemy", as the BBC no doubt view them, as a bunch of vicious racists.

That is the trouble with party politics. The only thing you can be sure the two parties in any situation are right about is one: the reason why their opponents are odious.

This debt nonsense will no doubt go down in history as the Great Distraction.

Not even that, really -- what are the core accusations that both sides keep coming back to in the U.S.? The Republicans call the Democrats socialists, and the Democrats call the Republicans racists. And both are wrong.
