What Obama and his ilk don't want to admit is that the "popular will" in any country could be worse than that of a narrow elite. But such is the case in most of the Third World, and especially the Muslim part of the Third World.

I am willing to take the risk of popular will even in cases where, as in South Africa, it has demonstrably gone together with a considerable worsening of governance. Principles are not principles if they can only be used selectively. But in the case of the Muslim world, you have a culture that is both theoretically and practically incapable of it, and therefore to go on trying would be - and is - brutally stupid. The journalists who have not reported the truth or who have allowed themselves to be bamboozled by pretences at good feeling and national unity have blood on their hands; not that many of them would care if Christianity, and Hebraism too, were wiped from the world.

Oh, I never argued that giving democracy a chance wasn't preferable. What I'm arguing is that the notion that democratic outcomes are always the best possible ones is both untrue and widely believed by Obama and the mainstream media. It may be that democracy will have its chance in the Muslim world -- and the outcome of this will be terrible and bloody wars which end in the recolonization or destruction of much of the Muslim world. It's this strong possibility which Obama and the MSM ignore.

And the journalists would care, if their precious little liberal world was overcome or even strongly menaced by the Muslims. They just don't care when the death and destruction and oppression happen to foreigners in far-off lands. In other words, their pretense at cosmopolitan caring is just that -- a pretense.

I found your journal via [livejournal.com profile] sabethea. I've had a look at it for a while.

We probably disagree on nearly everything. And many of my opinions would doubtless repel you and vice versa.

Nevertheless you are passionate and fierce and don't apologise for it. That's so rare it stands out a mile. I am of a similar nature.

So, with the full awareness that this might all end fierily, I am adding you to my list. You can reciprocate or not as you see fit. If you can't stand the thought of me doing this, I'll go away again.
