A man shouldn't be seething with rage at his own religious leaders on Christmas day. However, the best thing I can say of Archbishop Nichols is that he is the worst head of the Catholic Church in England since Cranmer. And he doesn't even have his writing skills.

I assume you know of the terrible things that have been happening to the Christian minority under the Palestinian Authority, and how Bethlehem has gone from being a Christian town to a Muslim stronghold with a persecuted and fading Christian minority. Of this, of course, the British Catholics hear never a word from their leaders. But when Israel proposes to compulsorily buy land from fifty Christian families to build defences, the successor of Theodore and Anselm and Manning desecrates the day of Our Lord's Nativity to give a fraudulent account of events purely in order to make Israel look bad. Say what you will about Williams, but his address was not a pack of lies at the expense of persecuted Christians and in the service of their persecutors.
