FRANCO URRU, my closest and dearest friend since I was eighteen, died last month. I only just found out. I can't even begin to imagine how I shall live without having him to talk to.
Thank you so much. I just had one of those "I'll just call Franco and we'll have a laugh" experiences, when I came across this totally crazed Japanese anime called "Girls und Panzer". It's just the sort of thing that would have started us off on a two-hour phone call. But as I said to another friend who had suffered an even worse loss - a daughter - the silver lining in this loss is being able to appreciate just how lucky we were to live in close proximity to such people.
After this touching note, I thought I'd friend you. I find that I am banned from commenting on your LJ, so, if you still don't want me around, I'll cancel that.
