A Harry Potter question

It seems to me that there is a tendency among fic writers to assume that, even if the Dark Lord is defeated, the Malfoys will somehow wiggle through and remain an influential family. Is it only my impression, or does anyone else notice the same thing?

Well, there are a lot of tendencies in fanfiction... I haven't noticed this, but it doesn't surprise me. I'm guessing this is related to the fandom's overall obsession with Draco - I've read many post-Voldemort fics where Draco is still around and waiting to be redeemed...

And I mean, let's face it: if anyone was going to wiggle through and remain influential, it'd be the Malfoys.
