A Harry Potter question

It seems to me that there is a tendency among fic writers to assume that, even if the Dark Lord is defeated, the Malfoys will somehow wiggle through and remain an influential family. Is it only my impression, or does anyone else notice the same thing?

well, I for one have written fics in which the Malfoy's family *is* disgraced after the defeat of the Dark Lord. All my future fics are like that, and I have read stories like that. I think you just happened to read only fics with that point of view, Fabio
