Egotistical meme - except that, but for the fics, 2007 would be a total write-off.
General output: one long fic, six fics, and two ficlets.
Favorite story this year and Best story this year: The first Nymphadora, or the fall of the house of Black Especially after the rewrite, which allowed me to tighten up its structure and add further emotional points. Not only do I think the idea a complete success, but it is amazing how many bases I managed to touch in one long short fic. Honourable mention for To be opened in the event of my death, which seems to have touched everyone who read it.
Most underappreciated by the universe: And nobody will ever know. The only review it got on FA completely failed to understand the point, because the reviewer had failed to read the story from which it was drawn. Still, the author of the original story liked it.
Most fun story: perhaps because of the impact of Deathly Hallows, perhaps because my own 2007 stank, I do not think I have written a lot of light-hearted stuff this year. Still, I guess Her Seventeenth Birthday is light and hopeful enough.
Sexiest story: I do not think I have written anything very sexy this year. The Dark Star deals with sex, but in a way that will scare or trouble most normal people.
"Holy crap, that's wrong even for you": Tie between The First Nymphadora and the seriously squicky The Dark Star. Dishonourable mention to the murder of Alain in A crime to outlive him and to Lily's memories in the same longfic.
Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: The Dark Star. I set out to see what other explanation there could be for Mrs.Zabini's seven husbands, and ended up with a weirdly twisted but sympathetic character. I would have put in A Warning, but, to judge by the various reviews, my attempt to make Fudge more understandable did not get through to most readers.
Hardest story to write: A Crime to Outlive HIm - first time I managed to complete a long fic, and frankly, without
asakiyume's constant encouragement, I might have dropped it before the end. Still, it encouraged me, by showing that I can actually complete a long fic - if rather a short long one.
Biggest disappointment: although some people liked it, I found Her seventeenth birthday a bit flat. But on the whole, I am pleased with my whole output for this year. Well, I had to do SOMETHING right!
Biggest surprise: again, The Dark Star.
Story I want remembered: I do not think I ever wrote anything better than The First Nymphadora.
