Yes, I overheard many a lunch or dinner conversation while on Malta, all about bad referees last season, how some team "stole" something or another, how some players "never get called down" and others "can't blink without getting a penalty", etc., etc., and so forth. I found it as entertaining as I do hearing the same about American football and basketball. I do, however, have a lot more respect for the European and international footballers than I do many American professional athletes, for a variety of reasons but predominantly for endurance on such a huge freaking field.
