Hello there, fpb. You don't know me, but I have been a lurker on your LJ for some time. I kow that I have on my flist a few people with whom you have had conflict in the past, indeed that is how i originally came to your LJ - but please don't let that put you off - my opinions are my own and not a mirror of what my flisters think.

Please don't feel that you have to friend me in return. I will happily remain a silent lurker and will continue to take interest in the posts which are, after all the reason that I still visit from time to time.

I just thought that it was about time I came out of the shadows and delurked.

Well, I've friended you you anyway. First because you're literate, second because you sound charming, third because I liked your list of interests and e-name (who can dislike someone who names herself for Caligula's horse and lists the political structure of the republic of Venice among her current obsessions?), and fourth because I am curious to see how, with the views you seem to have, you can get along with some of the people of your f-list.
